It is clear that state legislators are starting to recognize the threat that SPP poses to State's Rights and the sovereignty of the United States. In short, they see the Constitutionally-guaranteed independence of individual states being trampled by presidential/executive decree.

There is no national legislation authorizing SPP. There is no congressional oversight. There was no public debate.

Anti-SPP forces have been severely attacked in recent months by establishment wonks as being conspiracy nuts, delusional and just plain crazy -- that no reasonable and informed person in mainstream America sees even the slightest threat from the activities of the SPP.

If true, then this makes for a lot of thoroughly deceived people: dozens of national conservative and liberal organizations, virtually all labor unions, fourteen state legislatures and not the least of national broadcasters, Lou Dobbs and Michael Savage.

Prediction: The political firestorm is just beginning.
