Zoellick cautions on dollar supremacy PDF Print E-mail

Robert Zoellick, president of the World Bank and member of the Trilateral Commission, floats another hint that the dollar may be doomed to be replaced by some other global currency. He stops short of saying exactly what that currency would look like or who would issue it, but the IMF is the "hand-in-glove" organization that works with the World Bank on the world stage.

According to Reuters, Zoellick stated,

"The United States would be mistaken to take for granted the dollar's place as the world's predominant reserve currency. Looking forward, there will increasingly be other options."
