BCBS	The Basel Committee on Banking Supervision is a major committee within the Bank for International Settlements. Although the findings and recommendations of the BCBS were not initially intended to carry legal weight, the strategies and standards advocated by the BCBS are internationally upheld and aggressively advanced within the global financial framework. The BCBS was established in 1974.
